Buttermilk Biscuits

Ingredients:
- 2 c. Flour
- 2 tsp. Baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 oz. Cold shortening
- 2 oz. Cold butter, cut into small cubes
- 3/4 c. buttermilk
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 450F, line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Sift dry ingredients together.
- Cut or rub in shortening and butter until broken up and well blended. The mixture should resemble cornmeal.
- Gently stir in buttermilk until just blended.
- Dump shaggy dough onto floured table and fold five or six times. Roll out to 3/4 inch think and cut into biscuits. Brush with melted butter if desired.
- Bake 15 minutes, until golden brown.
