Butter and egg need to be at room temperature. Have other ingredients handy, but do not pre-measure or take any other preparatory measures until I instruct. Part of learning to bake is learning to measure out and prepare ingredients.
Any kind of sturdy jam is good for filling this cookies. Nutella is also acceptable. Nuts can be bought pre-ground, or you can grand them finely in a food processor or vitamix.
